The Spirit Train Village

Enter the Spirit Train Village marquee tent and ignite your Olympic spirit as you experience a multitude of winter sport simulation activities, capture unique memories and root yourself in a history that will unite Canadians under the maple leaf banner.

Spirit Train Info Booth

Welcoming you to the Spirit Train Village, the expert CP Spirit Train ambassadors can answer all your questions and help find solutions to any problems. A Panasonic LCD monitor will display details about CP partners and the schedule of events on the Spirit Train Stage. This is also the designated “Family Meeting” area.

Canadian Pacific presents: The Wall of Fame

Located in the heart of the Spirit Train Village is an engaging educational journey highlighting great Olympic and Paralympic athletes along with genuine artifacts from past Olympic Winter Games. Watch the Panasonic LCD screen in this exhibit to learn about sport in Canada through a series of historical vignettes provided by the Historica Foundation.

Meet the Vancouver 2010 Mascots

Miga, Quatchi and Sumi are really excited to be taking a journey across Canada on the CP Spirit Train! The mascots will be strolling about on site by the Spirit Train Stage and in the Spirit Train Village. They all love to make new friends (even Quatchi, who can be pretty shy). Come out and introduce yourself to them and remember to bring your camera! www.vancouver2010.com/mascot

Kids’ Zone

An area just for kids. Thanks to 3M Canada, kids can explore their creativity using Post-It Notes and Sketch pads, Highlighters, Scotch Tape and other 3M arts and crafts products, to create their very own sport-themed works of art.

Real Luge

Get an Olympic start on our real luge! Luge is one of the few winter sports timed to 1/1000 of a second. With this in mind, it’s easy to see why the luge start is considered the most critical part of any competitors’ run.

Video Booth

Create a video postcard message of support and inspiration to our Canadian athletes. These messages will be displayed on the Spirit Train website for the world to see! All Video Booth participants are entered into a draw to win a trip for four to the 2010 Winter Games! This grand prize includes airfare, two nights accommodation on CP’s Luxury Train the Royal Canadian Pacific and tickets to three Olympic events from February 16-18, 2010.

Ski Jump Photo Memories

Pose for a photo of yourself in mid-air, launching off of our fantastic ski jump. Step into an actual pair of ski jumping skis and pose in front of the Whistler skyline as if in mid jump. Professional photos are taken free of charge and will be emailed to you following each event, for you to share with your family and friends.

Sledge Hockey

Try your hand at Sledge Hockey, an innovative team sport that incorporates the same rules and discipline structure as regular ice hockey. Sit on a specially designed sled and use two sticks to pass, stick-handle and shoot the puck. Hone your shot on CP’s Sledge Hockey rink and enjoy this unique opportunity to experience a challenging Paralympic sport. Keep your eye out for Team Canada Sledge hockey goalie and Paralympic gold medalist Paul Rosen who is touring the country as a CP Spirit Train athlete ambassador.

Sound Dome

Experience the Sound Dome as it virtually transports you onto a snowy surface over the mountain’s crest and along four challenging downhill ski courses, featuring a cutting edge sound and visual display unlike any other. You’ll feel the thrill of the race for gold in sixty-seconds!

CP Spirit Train Stage

Live entertainment, giveaways, Olympic athletes and special performances all come alive on a specially designed boxcar that transforms into the Spirit Train Stage right before your eyes. There are plenty of things happening on the CP Spirit Train stage,
